So as a college student, I have NO time to cook. I also live in the dorms so I have nowhere to cook!
Microwave meals don't have to be frozen, here are a couple websites that have recipes for healthy "home cooked" microwavable meals.

TAKE EVERYTHING!!!

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I promise I will get better at this.

So my tip for today is just as the title suggests. TAKE EVERYTHING, that is free and there for you to take.

It may feel a little weird at first, taking extra creamers or sauce packets and throwing them into your bag. They are there for you to use, and I doubt the company cares if you take a couple extra.
Some examples of things to take are:
- Creamer packets
-Hot sauce from taco bell
-Ketchup,mustard,mayo, etc...
-Sugar and Sweetner
Now I'm not saying you are going to get all the sugar or ketchup you will ever use by taking packets, but if you use them daily at home, you will be surprised at the amount of money you save.

Another thing to take are free samples.
If you live on a college campus, it seems like they are always having fairs where local companies come to advertise (especially at the beginning of the school year). Take the time to walk around and look at the booths. Most booth has SOMETHING for you to take, even if it's just a pen.
By taking these, you no longer have to buy high lighters, cups, pens, etc... Saving money on school supplies.

This was a short and easy tip, but keep it in mind!

Saving Containers

The simplest way to save money is to save containers from the products you are already using now.

This is a great first step at starting to save money on the things you will be making in the future. Some key containers to save include:
-Laundry detergent bottles
-Shampoo and conditioner bottles
-Makeup containers
-Pickle, Jam, Mayo, etc... jars
-Ketchup bottles
-Prescription bottles
-Beer and Wine bottles
-Hand soap pumps and bottles
-Windex and other spray bottles

These are just a few of the containers that can help to house your newly made on the cheap products. I know this seems like a hoarder move, but it's so much easier to use bottles you already have rather than going out and buying new spray bottles that can cost $5+. Don't forget to be on the lookout for other containers around your house that you should save. If you don't live alone, you can place a piece of tape on the bottle and leave a message reminding the other members of your household not to throw them away!

The next step in using your old bottles is to clean out the old stuff. There are two ways you can effectively sanitize your containers.
First method: Mix a couple tablespoons of baking soda with water (until it's cloudy). Pour this into the bottle and shake for about a minute, let this sit for a couple of hours then pour and rinse.
Second method: Mix 4-5 capfulls of vinegar into about 2 cups of water. Pour into the bottle, shake, and rinse.
You can also use bleach to clean out bottles, but you have to make sure to rinse them SUPER WELL!

Hope this helps you on your way to being thrifty!

It's Simple, I Promise!!

You may think that saving money on everyday things takes a lot of time and effort. While this can be the case for some things, for most it's not.
You can save HUNDREDS of dollars every year by just taking a few extra minutes to hand make birthday cards or mix your own foaming soap. While some of these things may take a few extra ingredients that you wouldn't normally have lying around, the ingredients are usually cheap and easy to find.
Saving doesn't stop with DIY though, there are alternative places to shop and places to look and save the maximum amount with coupons.
This blog is going to be FILLED with ways to save money, and seeing as how I'm a college student living in the dorms. Most of them won't be very expensive, hard, or time consuming.
Happy saving!
